I haven’t updated this site in a while, mostly due to how busy I’ve been over the summer… I worked on 2 feature-length movies: “Kids’ Spooky Movie” directed by Tory Von Wolfe & Skyler Proctor and produced by Oliver Riehl; and “Disintegration” directed by Will Schmeckpeper and produced by Andrew Ellis. I then worked on a 3-day short “Then I Shall Reign Supreme” for Joe Nelson down in Provo, UT & Baker, OR.
Here’s a clip from the short, shot by Jake Kuwana on my crappy POS digital camera (hence the funky sound):
I worked on a few Faux Movie Trailers for Andrew Ellis, Will Schmeckpeper & Drew Wattles:
This was a “making of” mocumentary for “Juan The Poolboy” Faux Trailer, so I didn’t do the sound for this- I just have a cameo… I like working with these these guys- they’re a hoot!
The Nortwest Motorfest is at the Expo Idaho Fairgrounds over the 4th of July weekend, so I dropped by to get a quick sound fix… This is a clip from the Autocross Slalom, put on by the Snake River SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). They set up a bunch of cones in the parking lot & let loose.
May 2009 – I worked with the Make A Wish Foundation on a wish for Mitchell Kohler… His wish was to direct & star in a movie, so they made a “Star Wars” fan film. The actors are from Mitch’s family and the 6th grade class at Rolling Hills Public Charter School in Boise, Idaho. I did the location sound mixing & recording for the feature, which starts at around 8:45 in… The first portion is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the short movie. So, with the exception of a couple of cameo walk-ons, I wasn’t involved with the “making of” section.
The synopsis: Luke Piewalker’s family temporary tattoo parlor is destroyed by the evil Darth Waiter and he avenges the loss with a healthy food showdown at the chocolate-powered Dark Bar and Grill.
I have always been fascinated by sound and I am now spending an inordinate amount of time recording and processing sounds. I hope to record & update this blog regularly. Tip: The sounds on this site are best listened to using a good pair of headphones, as some of the recordings are quite subtle.
